About Northern Echo Lodge
Located on Wapawekka Lake in North Saskatchewan
Location
54°56'59" N 104°20'47" W
This remote camp is located on Churchman Island. The island is on the beautiful Wapawekka Lake in north central Saskatchewan. Accessible only by boat, we are truly at the edge of the world.
The lake is located on the Deschambault River system. This system links up with the Churchill river system by portage through the south east corner of Lac La Ronge. This placed it right in the middle of one of Western Canada's busiest pre-industrialized trade routes. This route, is itself, thousands of years old.
Churchman Island is located in the East narrows portion of Wapawekka. To the south resides the Wapawekka Hills, Saskatchewan's 2nd highest land mass. To the local natives they are known as the thunder hills. To the north, the massive Canadian Shield. We are smack dab in the middle of two major geological formations.

7 Day Spring Bear Hunt
Experience a once in a lifetime bear hunt. Spend your mornings fishing the beautiful Wapawekka. Eat a hearty northern Saskatchewan "2:00 supper" and then boat to your personal stand with one of our guides. Our lakeside stands provide a one of a kind hunt. With a large population of color phased black bears you will not be disappointed. The camp can claim 20+ years of hunters being on bears 95% of the time
Wapawekka is northern pike central. Not only are these fish fun to catch, if prepared the right way, they are a delicacy. We also have world class Walleye and you can catch a perch if ou know how. We will prepare your catch for both shore lunches and also as frozen treats to take home with you. Our prime fishing runs from the last week of May to the last week of June. It resumes again the last week of August.

Prime Angling

Experience Saskatchewan Moose hunting as it is meant to be. Traverse the mighty Wapawekka with one of our guides. Spend the days calling in massive bulls and your evenings warming up around your wood stove. The cabins are full service and warm and our professional kitchen staff is there to make sure your belly and your fireplace is full. We only have 4 available tags so they are hard to get. This one of a kind hunt is well worth it. Although it is not for the faint of heart. We have lots of ground to cover and so do the animals. It is hard but rewarding.
7 day Fall Moose Hunt
The plan is available starting the first week of July, and runs to the last week of August. The hunting and fishing may slow down with the hot summer months. The Lodge, however, is in its prime. Hiking, star gazing, fishing, etc. This is the north at its summer finest. In order to remain affordable we offer this as a build your own package. See our prices page for a break down or contact us for more info.
